Hey guys, I've been trying to find the lyrics Taylor sang on AGT final show.
When I type "little bitty lyrics" on Google, I can only find Alan Jackson's lyrics, which are different from Taylor's.

This is the link to Tay's video:

Help me, please? I wanna learn the Taylor's version. Sad

Here are Taylor's lyrics...

A little bitty baby, a little bitty gown,
It'll grow up in a little bitty town,
Big yellow bus, little bitty books,
It all started with a little bitty look.

It's all right to be a little bitty,
Little home town or a big old city,
Might as well share, might as well smile,
Life goes on for a little bitty while.

[Yodels]

Good old boy and a pretty little girl,
Start all over in a little bitty world,
Little bitty world goes around and around,
Little bit of silence and a little bit of sound.

It's all right to be a little bitty,
Little home town or a BIG old city,
Might as well share, might as well smile,
Life goes on for a little bitty while.

[Yodels]

Sorry, I don't know how to write the lyrics for the yodeling, hopefully you can just copy that from the sound.

Btw, a story about Brandy's mild criticism...
AGT has a producer, and even though Brandy said Taylor's performance lost the innocence and Taylor didn't yodel soon enough, the fact is that AGT picked the song, and AGT decided to spruce up the act with the dancers and stage props, and Brandy must have known that. So I don't know why she picked on Taylor. Taylor once said (cheerfully) "I didn't order the dancers, and I didn't really like the bales of hay", so there you go. Maybe Brandy cost Taylor a few votes? Did it matter? Nobody knows the actually vote totals, did Taylor lose by a million votes, or by only a few?

But it doesn't matter, Taylor also said she went way farther than she had ever imagined, she didn't even know if people would like her. The show exceeded her expectations, and really made her a star for a little while. Even today, more than 5 years later, people are still watching her videos on YouTube! Very Happy

Thanks for reposting the links, it's good to see it again! Very Happy

>> A little bitty baby, a little bitty gown,

I sing it as "Little bitty baby in a little bitty gown,"

>> Little home town or a big old city,

I say "on" instead of "or".

Your first makes more sense, but I don't hear Taylor say the word 'in'. She's singing fast, and throwing a hat, so maybe it's too difficult to hear. Question

Your second is not correct English. A town cannot be 'on' a city, they are two different things, depending on how many people there are. (When does a town become a city?)

Update: I listened to the other recording we have where Taylor sings "Little Bitty", and in that version she clearly sings 'little bitty baby, a little bitty gown', she does not say 'in'. But I still agree with Nuno, adding 'in' makes more sense, so you can sing it the way you want.

This audio version of Little Bitty was when she appeared at the Grand Ole Opry with Riders in the Sky, shortly after AGT.

This is another appearance, with different songs, the previous day...

There is something that I am *never* sure what is the meaning of it.

What does the word "Town" mean? Sometimes it seems it means a "road", sometimes it means a small city.

If it means "road", then it makes all the sense to be on a city. If it means "small city", it can be a subcity on city.

I think I can win this "argument" Laughing Twisted Evil Twisted Evil

A town is not a road, or a subcity. A subcity is called a suburb, always attached to a big city. A town is all by itself, the same as a city only much smaller. I would guess a town has less than 3,000 people, usually only a few hundred? Just a small dot on a map.

That's why the song says 'little home town' and 'big old city'.
Little = town
Big = city

And what does "hometown" mean? I thought it was the place where you lived when young.

So, for example, if when I was young, I was on a city called XXX, then my hometown is XXX, not so? Very Happy

'Hometown' is slang for the place you were born. It can be a city, so you could say that New York City is your 'hometown'. But in the song Little Bitty, the lyrics say 'little home town', so it can't be a city. Razz

Nuno, your version of the lyrics for Little Bitty are wrong, it is not correct English. A town cannot be 'on' a city. Rolling Eyes

Except maybe after a bad hurricane or earthquake.

I refuse to be nunoized. Laughing

Towns are smaller than cities!!!
In drama we played a hard memory-type game and we needed to say the name of a new zealand town. NOT a city! eg we couldn't say Wellington, Auckland or Dunedin but could say Blenheim, Palmerston north etc.
