Hi! I need a song for a performance award that I'm doing in a couple of weeks at drama. It would be good If it had a backing track or easy guitar or piano chords someone could play.

It can be any genre, but i don't want it to be hard.

Thanks 4 the help Very Happy

You know more about music than I do, you lost me when you talked about backing tracks and chords. Smile

Is your yodeling good enough to try that? Does anybody besides us know you like yodeling? Maybe if you do something unexpected or different it would get some positive attention.

Randomly, one YouTuber I can think of who does unusual school-talent-style songs with a guitar is Rain Maxwell. She does a large variety.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWUi84R91zk&feature=plcp ("Sasquatch")
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T9AzkgJO_NU&feature=plcp ("I Like Giants")

Or, do a song everyone knows, one of the current popular songs that everybody covers, or an oldie like a Beatles song.

For example, here's a piano cover of "Grenade"... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wknb-v35xYY&feature=plcp

Very Happy

I looked at the program and it seems that they put down a song for people who haven't chosen yet, so I'm singing Lego House (I hate that song!! Mad )

I'm not going to drama tonight, but I'll text my friend and get her to ask if its too late to change.

If I can, I think I'll sing Desperado by the Eagles. Bob, do you think you could please download the backing track for me??? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PvoL0vjP8mw Very Happy

Here's the MP3 version...

http://friendlycountryforum.com/aa/karaoke/Desperado-Eagles-backingtrack.mp3

Remember to right-click on the link above, and select the "Save as" option. It should be a 3.29MB file.

If you change your mind or need another song, let me know. Very Happy

I hope they let you change your song. I listened to Lego House, but don't understand the lyrics. Maybe it's just me. Confused Laughing

We had Performance awards today!! It was really fun and the comments on my certificate said my song was really good! Very Happy We also did improvisation for the drama part. We didn't really do enough to be marked well but it was fun anyway! Very Happy

I'm glad you got good comments! Very Happy

Improvisation seems difficult, but I can see how it would be fun. Who needs a script? Smile

...but an hour later you can think of at least a hundred really brilliant or funny things you could have said! Rolling Eyes

The same thing happens in a debate. Do you have debate classes or clubs in school? We always had them when I was in school, but it helped that the subject was planned beforehand, so everyone was prepared with facts. Improv requires more off-the-cuff responses, because the subject can go anywhere.

I suppose you could show up with a bucket of sand. Just be sure the bucket is big enough for your head, so you won't get stuck. Laughing
