Correct. Equines (donkeys and horses) and llamas are all herding animals.
Horse Llama Horse Llama <--- oops, well I guess that includes miniature horses, too!

Also, I think if a horse or a llama is left unattended, it will return to the barn. Cows and pigs might do that too. Chickens won't though, they'll wander around randomly. Rolling Eyes Chicken

The donkeys I've known -- not many -- were essentially pets and liked human company. They also enjoyed hanging out with other donkeys.

Welcome back! Very Happy

I've never seen this forum on a phone. I'm glad to know it's still usable. Shocked

The chicken probably wanted to walk with you, but knew it was dangerous to cross the road. Rolling Eyes

You should have stopped walking, to see if the chicken also stopped. Razz

I hope you get your internet soon, and I hope it's unlimited. Razz Razz

It's good to hear from you, Aishani.

Another of my theories is debunked. I was going to hypothesize that the reason the chicken crossed the road was to talk to Aishani, but I guess it didn't cross at all.

I saw a chicken at a fair once, it could play a piano. Razz

But all it did was peck at the keys for food. Rolling Eyes

Years ago, I checked into a motel with my wife and kids in Beaver, Utah. When we went into the room, there was a rooster strutting around on the table. My wife thought it was awful. The kids and I thought it was awesome and wanted to take it home, but Mom wouldn't let us.

The rooster was a pet owned by the people who ran the motel, and it got into the room somehow. The motel people probably wouldn't have let us take it home, anyway.

I could never have a pet chicken, because I eat a lot of chicken. If I had a pet, I don't think I could eat chicken while he was looking at me. Confused

I'm the same way with dogs and horses. Once when my ship was in Hong Kong, there was a street vendor who sold a dog meat preparation on a stick. Some of my shipmates thought about trying it. I wouldn't even think of it. None of my shipmates ended up trying it, either, as far as I know. The Lewis and Clark Expedition ate quite a lot of dog meat.

I never sampled, or considered sampling, horse meat, either. There used to be a meat market in Seattle that sold horse meat exclusively. I think it is illegal in all states to sell horse meat for human consumption today. I don't know whether old horses are still sold to dog food factories. It seems to me that that was also outlawed a few years ago.

I guess we have this thing about eating our pets. If we give an animal a name, we shouldn't eat it. Confused

Buffalo is the new beef, isn't it? I'd love to try it, but it hasn't shown up in my local grocery store yet.

Venison is very good! It pays to have friends who are hunters, they sometimes invite you over for venison if you bring the refreshments. It's a rare treat for me.

Years ago I had a big bowl of moose stew. Best stew I ever had! Very Happy

If you ever get a chance to go to a road-kill party, GO!!! Lots of good stuff like rabbit and pheasant and other wild animals that you can try. You will wish your stomach was bigger so you can try everything! Razz

I don't think I could eat roast kiwi though. Even if we had them around here. Rolling Eyes

Venison is yum!! Razz
Once I tried dried, salty reindeer meat & I remember that it was yum!

I think kiwis are endangered so even if you managed to catch one you couldn't eat it. They're nocturnal & camouflaged so its rare to find one.

I wonder what a kiwi tastes like. I don't think it would taste like chicken, they might be almost inedible. Tongue

But they are cute to look at! I'm glad they are protected, people should leave them alone. Very Happy

I never had reindeer meat, but I bet it's a lot like the whitetail deer that we have here in Wisconsin. I like dried jerky, here the stores sell jerky made from beef, but specialty places use other meats, like elk or deer. I think jerky can also be made from turkey and fish.
