Does anybody here run? I just started my second year of high school xc (cross country) and our team is the best in the state, region, and 14th in the nation with the 8th best runner in the nation on our team.

Does anybody want to share times and stuff?

Here are mine:

Best 4k:18:01
Best 400m hurdles: 1:15
Best 100m hurdles: 19.87 (not my signature event! Embarassed )
Best 400m: 1:09
Best 5k:25:04 (i always run those pre/early-season when i'm not in as good of shape)

Wow, I think you might be pretty fast!! Shocked

It's amazing that your 400m time with hurdles is only 6 seconds slower than without hurdles, they don't slow you up much! I guess you have to get your running pace down so you can run right over them.

I never ran in school, I have short legs and I'm not built as a runner. But I enjoy watching it, especially in the Olympics! Very Happy

Well, yes it does take a lot of practice so you fly low over them instead of jumping over them. according to a hurdling strategies book i read, your 400m hurdle time should be about 5s slower than your regular 400m time. i wish i could've gotten faster by going to more practices though. i was in the musical (yodeled in that!) and hardly made it to any practices though i made it to all of the meets.

I was a long runner at 3 years ago.
I was a student at 3 years ago.
I am still a student now.

However, I was had running practice everyday.
I had experience to run 42.195 km <---It is a great competition of marathon in Hong Kong.
My best time is 3:12 hours on the marathon at 2years ago.
In Hong Kong,if you do not have 18 years old that can not to join the marathon competiton. But I was 14 years olds at 3years ago.I did not join the competition cause to I had not qualidication to join. Then I followed my teacher to run in the marathon and did not declared.
I can finished by 3:12 hours.
In the next year,I was 15years old.(The competition od marathon ia hold
on each year.)But I finished it by 3:48 hours.
When I was 16 years old, I finished it by 4:12 hours.<<<I was walking at sometimes.
The important is the practice.I'm lazy to train.......So I can't run a long time.

I often have competition with joint-school.In my school,I am the fastest one.In the competition.I always to run 4X400M,1500m and 5000m.

Best 4K:I forget it<I never run it.

Best 400m :57.89(s)<----this record is 1years ago

Best 1500m :4:44<----this record is 2years ago

Best 800 :2:15<----this record is 2years ago

3K hurdles :12:18<<<<It is differclut to control cause I'm short.I can't to train 2Khurdles,because it hold on a big competition in Hong Kong.

Best 3000m :10:58<<<<2 years ago

Best 10K :41 mins<<I tried to run 10K to spend 38mins,but not is in the competition.Finished by 38mins is my best time for 10K.

Best 5k:18:59<<It is my record in this years. However,I take the second winner(third) on the race.I think I'm slow than myself at year ago.And ,my weight is more higj weight.

I was no practise for a long time.I am hard-working to study.
Recently,I start to the exercise so that lose weight.

Molai, I think it's great that you remember all your runs, and all the times! I wish I knew how fast I ran when I was young, because I know I can't run fast any more.

I'm short too, and I always hated the hurdles. It was hard for me to jump over them!

Exercise is good for your health! Very Happy
